Performing calibration checks and internal quality control measures, you will develop, modify and verify food and water test methods. You must ensure the Laboratory participates in the UK Health Security Agency FEPTU Proficiency testing scheme.

Holding an Honours degree or equivalent in Food Microbiology and with experience in an accredited laboratory, you have bench experience of food and water examination in a public health environment. Understanding the micro-organisms important in food and water microbiology you have first-hand experience of the process of gaining ISO 17025 and maintaining accreditation

With a background in report writing and training staff (particularly in methodology, validation and equipment calibration) you have excellent verbal, written and presentation skills that include the ability to explain complex ideas and engage people. Your clear understanding of COSHH combines with an ability to define and use analytics to support decision making.
